בחלק מתוכניות הקונצרטים בהם אני משתתף אני שר, ולפעמים אפילו באופן משמעותי, למרות שאין לי הכשרה או יכולית מקצועית כזמר, אלא רק כמוזיקאי עם קול לא מפותח:). יחד עם זאת, אני יודע כמובן למצוא את הדרכים בהן השירה שלי תורמת לקונספט והקהל נהנה ממנה
כיוצר, חלק משמעותי בעיניי ביצירתי הוא כתיבת שירים. את חלקם אני שר בעצמי, בהקלטות ומול קהל, ולעיתים אני כותב ואחרים שרים. לשיר את השירים שלי בעצמי זה מאוד אישי, ויש בזה מימד הבעה ישיר, וקשר ישיר לקהל, שהוא חלק מאישיותי, אבל דבר שאולי חשוב לי אף יותר הוא להשמיע את הקול היוצר שלי בשירים עצמם (בלי קשר בהקשר זה לזהות הזמרים ששרים אותם), ולאו דווקא בזמרה שלהם. חשוב לי לשאוף שהטקסטים שאני כותב (שבהם אני מנסה להעביר ולהבעיר מסרים, לפתח רעיונות, להביע רגשות ולעורר מחשבה), וגם המנגינות שלי, יזכו לתהודה כפי ששירים במדיום הפופולארי זוכים לעיתים להיות חלק מהמורשת העממית הרחבה, ואני שמח כמובן גם כששיריי מופצים טיפין טיפין לקבוצות קהל קטנות ולאינדיבידואלים. מכל מקום, בזכות הפוטנציאל של הפורמט להגיע להמונים, אני רואה בתחום זה של יצירתי ערך לא רק בשל משקלו הסגולי החשוב בפני עצמו, אלא גם ערך מוסף בזכות האפשרות שלו לקדם ולחשוף את מה שיש לי להציע לקהל גדול, ומשום כך אני מקפיד להמשיך ולהשקיע בתחום ולעולם לא לנטוש אותו, חרף העובדה שבסופו של דבר – לאחר כמה עשורים של כתיבת שירים ופרסומם – טרם זכיתי לחשיפה מאסיבית בדמות להיט אמיתי. כאמור, בכל מקרה אני סבור שלערך הסגולי האותנטי של תחום היצירה הזה שלי יש חשיבות, ולכן בעיניי ההשקעה בו שווה, ואני מוצא בה עניין, אתגר וסיפוק. מכל מקום – אם ביום מן הימים בכל זאת שיריי יתפרסמו בתפוצה מאוד רחבה, אני מניח שאשמח על השגת המטרה ומקווה שאוהב את השינוי שזה עשוי ליצור בחיי, אבל כך או כך השירים שאני יוצר ומפרסם לאורך השנים קרובים ללבי ומהווים בהחלט חלק חשוב בתפיסתי את מכלול יצירתי

In some programs of concerts in which I participate I sing, and sometimes even significantly, although I have no training or professional ability as a singer, but only as a musician with an undeveloped voice:). However, I know of course to find ways for my singing to contribute to the concept of the music and for the audience to benefit of it.
As a creator, a significant part for me in my work is in writing songs. Some of them I sing myself, in recordings and to a live audience, and sometimes I write and others perform. To sing my songs myself it’s very personal, and there is a dimension of direct expression embedded, and a direct link to the public, which part of my personality requires, but perhaps even more important to me is the stage as a creator of my songs themselves (regardless in this context to the identity of the singers who sing them), rather than necessarily singing them myself. It is important for me to aspire that the texts I write, when I try to ignite & pass messages, develop ideas, express feelings and provoke thought, as well as the tunes of mine, will receive attention as songs in a popular medium in which there’s the potential sometimes to be part of the legacy of the wide population, and I’m happy of course when my songs are distributed piecemeal to an audience of small groups or individuals as well. In any case, thanks to the potential of the format to reach the masses, I see in this area of creation value not only for its specific gravity, important in itself, but also added value thanks to its possibility to promote and expose what I have to offer to a large audience, so I make sure to continue to invest in this genre and never abandon it, despite the fact that in the end, after few decades of songwriting, I had not yet won a massive exposure to form a real hit. As mentioned – in any case I think the authentic specific gravity of the craft has importance, so it is worth the investment to me, and I find it to have qualities of interest, challenge and satisfaction. In any case – if someday any of my songs will be known in a broad crowd, I suppose I would be happy about the goal’s achievement and hopefully would like the change it may create in my life, but either way – the songs I create and publish over the years are close to my heart and are certainly an important part to me in the perception of my overall creation.
